Can Slack and Teams integrate?

Temporary metadata is retained for up to 7 days to support thread synchronization. All connections are encrypted on enterprise-grade infrastructure.

Do my clients need to install anything?

No. Your client contact receives an invite link and can approve the connection themselves or forward it to their IT administrator. Once approved, their users message you normally in Teams - they don't know you're on Slack.

What's the difference between SlackBridge and migrating from Slack to Teams?

Migration means abandoning Slack entirely and moving to Teams. SlackBridge lets you keep using Slack while communicating with Teams users. No migration, no retraining, no lost integrations.

Can I connect to multiple Teams tenants?

Yes! Agencies and consultancies can connect their single Slack workspace to multiple client Teams tenants. Each client connection is managed separately with its own channel mappings.

How much does Slack Teams integration cost?

Is this the same as Slack Connect?

Do @mentions translate between Slack and Microsoft Teams?

Mentions cross the SlackBridge bridge in both directions as readable text, not as clickable user links. The mentioned person on the source platform still gets notified normally on that platform. In cross-organization bridges, where the Slack workspace and Microsoft Teams tenant belong to different companies, mention bridging is always text-only by design because the two organizations do not share user identities.

Do threads and replies bridge between Slack and Microsoft Teams?

Yes. SlackBridge bridges threaded replies in both directions: a reply in a Slack thread arrives in Microsoft Teams as a reply on the corresponding Teams root message, and a reply on a Teams root message arrives in Slack inside the corresponding thread. Threading is preserved by storing a Slack-timestamp ↔ Teams-message-ID map at bridge time, with a content-fingerprint fallback (sender name + first 50 characters + a 4-factor inference score) for cases where the original message ID was not captured. Threads work even when the bot was installed after the parent message was posted.

How do emojis bridge between Slack and Microsoft Teams?

SlackBridge bridges 15 Microsoft Teams reaction types as native Slack reactions in both directions, plus 43 common Slack emoji shortcodes that render as Unicode in Teams. Standard Unicode emoji typed into message bodies pass through unchanged in either direction. Custom workspace emoji are not translated and appear as :shortcode: text on the Teams side.

What does my Microsoft 365 admin need to approve to enable SlackBridge?

Microsoft Teams uses application-level Graph API permissions, which can only be granted by a Microsoft 365 Global Administrator (or Cloud Application Administrator). SlackBridge generates a single sign-in link that takes the admin to Microsoft's standard consent screen at login.microsoftonline.com — the screen lists every permission SlackBridge will receive. Admin clicks Accept once, the consent is recorded against the tenant, and SlackBridge can then bridge messages. The consent link is valid for seven days. SlackBridge never sees the admin's password and never gets delegated user permissions; consent is granted to the SlackBridge application as a whole.

How long does SlackBridge store my messages and data?

SlackBridge does not persistently store the body text of bridged messages. Each bridged message produces a small metadata record (Slack timestamp, Microsoft Teams message ID, channel IDs) that lives in encrypted key-value storage for seven days by default and is then automatically deleted. Sender names and message text are explicitly excluded from this record. A separate one-way hash is stored for seven days to support thread-reply inference, and administrative audit events live for ninety days by default. All retention windows are configurable per organization on the Pro plan.

What permissions does SlackBridge ask for, and why?

SlackBridge requests two permission sets: a Slack OAuth bot token with eleven scopes (channels, chat, users) and one of two Microsoft Graph application permission tiers — Core Bridging (six read-leaning permissions) or Full Integration (ten permissions including team and app management). Tiers are chosen at consent time. SlackBridge never requests email, file, mail, calendar, or chat-send permissions.
